Little Fockers, the second sequel to the 2000 film Meet the Parents starring Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman, led the Christmas weekend box office, pulling in $48.3 million since its Wednesday debut, according to Box Office Mojo.
Fockers edged out True Grit, a remake from the Coen Brothers starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. Grit raked in $36.8 million in its five-day opening, marking the best debut for a Coen Brothers film ever.
Tron: Legacy tops weekend box office
Tron: Legacy, which also stars Bridges, fell to third with $20.1 million. The film has now grossed a total of $88.3 million. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader landed in fourth place with $10.8 million. Yogi Bear followed with $8.8 million.
The week's other newcomer, a retelling of Gulliver's Travels starring Jack Black, drew only $7.2 million. The film opened in a disappointing seventh place behindThe Fighter ($8.5 million).
