See how the West Wing cast reacted
Lin-Manuel Miranda, what's next?
The Hamilton creator/star and his fellow departing original cast members Leslie Odom Jr. and Phillipa Soo were given a special surprise during their final curtain call Saturday night when the orchestra began playing the theme song to The West Wing during the send-off.
Miranda is a die-hard West Wing fan, and this isn't the first time the 11-time Tony winning musical has been mashed-up with Aaron Sorkin's political drama. During a visit to the White House earlier this year, the Hamilton cast converted their "Cabinet Battle #1" into a West Wing style walk-and-talk.
The West Wing's Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford reunite for a classic walk-and-talk
Miranda is visibly touched by the tribute on the curtain call livestream, but the cast of The West Wing also approved of the send-off. Richard Schiff, Josh Malina, Rob Lowe and Bradley Whitford all shared their pride at being associated with Miranda's final performance on Twitter.
