Although the network asked for two additional scripts last month, it has now opted not to pick up additional episodes beyond the initial 13-episode order. The drama, however, is not officially canceled.

CW orders full seasons of Hellcats, Nikita and One Tree Hill

Despite critical praise for the series, which follows the story of a young girl finding her real parents after living in foster care, Life Unexpected pulled in less than 1 million viewers in its last outing, sliding from 1.7 million viewers for its Season 2 premiere.

The news follows the full-season pick-ups of One Tree Hill, and freshman series Nikitaand Hellcats.
