Fox has renewed House for an eighth season, the network announced Tuesday.
"Over the past seven seasons, House has redefined the medical drama and has given us one of television's most compelling and iconic characters," Kevin Reilly, Fox president of entertainment, said. "From the producers to the incredible writers to the unbelievably talented cast and crew, the House team is fearless in its creativity and I can't wait to see what they have in store next year."

Is Robert Sean Leonard leaving House?

Fox and producer Universal Media Studios had to ink a new deal for the medical drama after Comcast bought NBC Universal. The network did not mention if Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps and Lisa Edelstein, whose contracts are up after this season, are returning. But according to Deadline, Leonard and Epps have signed deals, while Edelstein is close to re-signing for the eighth and likely final season. Leonard conceded last month that he was unsure if he would be returning to House due to the show's and his own contractual issues.

Edelstein's deal has been delayed because she has been overseas, according to the site.As for the rest of the cast, Hugh Laurie has one more year left on his three-year deal, and newer players, like Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson, are still under contract.
