Lea Michele Is Getting Into the Holiday Movie Game

Lea Michele is getting into the Christmas spirit in a big way this year.

The Glee alum will star in a romantic holiday movie called Same Time, Next Christmas for ABC (ordered from Freeform Studios). She stars as a woman named Olivia Henderson who met her childhood sweetheart during her family's Christmas trip to Hawaii and is reunited with her old flame after a few years apart.

In addition to starring in the film, which will air this December, Michele will also release her first Christmas album.

In a statement, Michele said of the news, "This holiday season holds special importance to me as I get to celebrate both my role in this film and my first-ever holiday album. I'm honored to return to ABC with this movie event, and I am excited to share the holidays with everyone."

The actress-singer recently teased her plan to create a holiday album during an impromptu Twitter Q&A, writing, "Christmas is literally my favorite day and I have the best memories listening to Christmas albums with my mom and dad on Christmas morning so I have always wanted to make one of my own!"

Michele previously starred in ABC's abruptly canceled political comedy The Mayor.
