Kid Cudi was arrested Friday on charges of felony criminal mischief and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a spokesman for the New York Police Department said.
The 26-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper (real name: Scott Mescudi) allegedly destroyed a woman's phone and broke her apartment door off its hinges, according to TMZ, which first reported the news.
No further details were available, and the New York district attorney's office could not be reached for comment. Cudi's rep also could not be reached for comment.
Six months ago, Cudi was nearly arrested by Los Angeles police in what turned out to be a case of mistaken identity in a burglary case.
The "Day 'n' Nite" singer released his first album in September and also stars on the HBO drama How to Make It in America.
