Katy Perry to Guest-Star on How I Met Your Mother

Katy Perry will guest-star on How I Met Your Mother later this season, CBS announced Thursday.
The singer will play the beautiful and naïve cousin of Zoey (Jennifer Morrison). The episode is titled "Oh Honey" because gang decides to call Perry's character, who will also be a potential love interest for Ted (Josh Radnor), "Honey."

It will be the first major acting role for Perry, who recently played herself on The Simpsons, following her aborted appearance on Sesame Street. (She also lampooned the Sesame controversy during a sketch on Saturday Night Live).Mother, of course, is no stranger to welcoming pop stars. Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Scherzinger have all dropped by the CBS sitcom.An airdate for Perry's episode has not been set.
