Jon Gosselin's Apartment Ransacked

Someone ripped apart Jon Gosselin's New York City apartment around Christmas day, E! Online reports.

"He entered his apartment in Manhattan and was horrified, disheartened, and saddened to observe the devastation of his furniture, clothing and personal belongings, which were apparently slashed with a butcher knife by a very troubled and sick perpetrator," his attorney, Mark Jay Heller,told E!.

Jon and Kate Gosselin's divorce is final

The perpetrator slashed Gosselin's clothing, sheets, luggage, and furniture, and left a note "affixed to Jon's bedroom dresser by a butcher knife," Heller said.

The NYPD is investigating the break-in, and Heller said the former Jon & Kate Plus 8reality star plans to file felony charges should the culprit be caught.

A call to Gosselin's attorney from TVGuide.com was not immediately returned.
