John Mellencamp and Wife Split After 20 Years

John Mellencamp and his wife of 18 years are calling it quits, according to The Associated Press.

"John and Elaine Mellencamp are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family," Mellencamp's rep, Bob Merlis, told the AP in a statement.
The 59-year-old rocker and his model wife, 41, will continue to raise their two children together in Indiana. However, he did not specify if the couple would file for divorce.
The couple met in 1991 when then 23-year-old supermodel Elaine Irwin was hired to pose for the cover of Mellencamp's Whenever We Wanted album. The couple got engaged 10 weeks later and married the following September.
