John Mayer on Aniston Split: "I Don't Want to Waste Somebody's Time"

John Mayer stayed mum about his relationship with Jennifer Aniston, but the same can't be said about the break-up. The two became just Friends last week, and the Grammy winner insisted to reporters over the weekend that there was absolutely "no lying" and "no cheating" involved. "It's the most normal thing in the world," Mayer said, according to Us Weekly. "There's no lying there's no cheating. There's no nothing." The 30-year-old confirmed the Mirror's reports that it was he who put an end to their whirlwind four-month relationship, due to "different chemistry," and urged others in unhappy relationships to throw in the towel. "I ended a relationship to be alone because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right," Mayer said. "I don't waste people's time. "I guarantee you [that] 20 percent of the people on this street right now who are in a relationship wish they could get out but they don't know how. And I'm going to be honest on the way in to my relationships and I'm going to be honest on the way out of my relationships." Still, there are no hard feelings between the exes. Mayer has nothing but kind words for Aniston, 39. "Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I've ever met," he said.
