Assault Charge Against Jersey Shore's Ronnie to Be Dismissed

Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has been admitted into a pretrial intervention program that will allow an assault charge stemming from Season 1 to be dismissed, The Associated Press reports. 
Judge Stephanie Wauters in Ocean County, N.J., admitted Ortiz-Magro into the program for 18 months on Monday. Under the program, he neither admits nor denies guilt. Ortiz-Magro told the judge he'd be willing to perform community service, but Wauters did not specify what kind or how much.

Jersey Shore's Ronnie indicted on assault charge

Ortiz-Magro, 25, was accused of third-degree assault against Stephen Izzo outside a Seaside Heights, N.J., club in 2009. The incident was shown in a Season 1 episode of Jersey Shore.Had he been convicted, he would've faced up to five years in state prison.Izzo has a civil suit against Ortiz-Magro and MTV pending.Ortiz-Magro is filming Season 5 of Jersey Shore. Season 4 premieres Thursday, Aug. 4 at 10/9c.
