Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino told TVGuide.com Friday he's "very excited to do Season 2," although he wouldn't discuss contract logistics after outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter reported the cast pushed for higher salaries.

"Our audience has fallen in love with Jersey Shore and its amazing cast who have really grown together as a family. Jersey Shore debuted in December — amid protests from Italian-American groups — to an underwhelming 1.3 million viewers. Fans will have to wait for new episodes of the breakout series, but in the meantime, MTV will air the "Jersey Bowl" Season 1 marathon on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 9am/8c.
