Janeane Garofalo Joins John Wells' Medical Drama

Janeane Garofalo has joined the cast of John Wells' new untitled CBS medical drama, Entertainment Weekly reports.

CBS picks up pilots from TV vets

Garofalo, 45, will play Angel, the chief nurse and operations manager of a group of medical professionals who travel across the country to help those in need, according to the site. The comedienne will star alongside Amy Smart and Twilight's Rachel Lefevre in the as-yet-untitled pilot.

Most recently seen as analyst Janis Gold on Season 7 of 24, Garofalo previously worked with Wells when she had a recurring role on the last season of The West Wing.
