James Franco Joins Nick at Nite Telenovela Hollywood Heights

So long, General Hospital. Hello, Hollywood!

James Franco has signed on to do a multi-episodic arc on Nick at Nite's upcoming primetime soap, Hollywood Heights, Vulture reports.

Formerly known as Reach for the Stars, the show is based on a Mexican TV series centered on a shy girl who is transformed into a pop sensation after winning a songwriting contest. On her road to fame, she becomes pals with a big rock star who just happens to be her celebrity crush. No word yet on who Franco will play.

Hollywood Heights premieres this June and will air five nights a week. Franco most recently starred in last summer's Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
