Idina Menzel to Return to Glee
Idina Menzel is in final talks to return to Glee in Season 3, Deadline.com reports. Menzel will reprise her role as Shelby Corcoran, the biological mother of Rachel Berry (Lea Michele). Her guest arc is slated for 10-12 episodes, according to the report. "I'm really excited the that Idina is joining the family again," Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy said. "We missed her last year and we're happy that she is coming back."

Menzel appeared in Glee's first season as the coach of Vocal Adrenaline and a love interest of Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). After learning that Rachel was her daughter, the two tried to bond, but Shelby left town after adopting Quinn and Puck's baby in the finale. When she returns for Season 3, Shelby will join McKinley High as a new teacher.
