Caprica's Paula Malcomson Cast as Hunger Games Mom

Hunger Games has cast Caprica star Paula Malcomson to play the mother of Katniss and Prim, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the books, Mrs. Everdeen is grieving after her husband's death and afraid that her daughters will have to take part in the dangerous Hunger Games.

Hunger Games casts newcomer in Prim role

Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence and newcomer Willow Shields will play Katniss and Prim, respectively. The film adaptation's cast also includes Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Leven Rambin and Jack Quaid.

Malcomson has also appeared in Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy and, most recently Private Practice.

The Hunger Games is set to hit theaters on March 23, 2012.
