Don't panic
First it was a radio series, then a book series, and then a movie, and now Douglas Adams' beloved The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is making its way to the small screen. According to Deadline, a new adaptation of the story is in the works at Hulu.
All these stories follow Arthur Dent (who was played by Martin Freeman in the latest movie), as he travels through space following the destruction of the Earth by the Vogons. Along the way, he's joined by friends and companions, and also Marvin the Paranoid Android. The series has seeped its way into popular culture from the simple "don't panic" phrase to how the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is the number 42.

Now Carlton Cuse (Lost, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Bates Motel) and scriptwriter Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) are taking a stab at bringing the story to life once again. To maybe the surprise of no one since they already own everything else, Disney actually owns the IP to Hitchhiker's Guide since it produced the 2005 movie. Per Deadline, Cuse and Fuchs will write and executive-produce the proposed series, which is in development with ABC Signature. Thank you in advance for all the fish.
