OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI - NOVEMBER 09: Cayden Lee #19 of the Mississippi Rebels carries the ball against Damon Wilson II #10 of the Georgia Bulldogs during the second half at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on November 09, 2024 in Oxford, Mississippi. Ole Miss defeated Georgia 28-10.
Justin Ford/Getty ImagesThe Ole Miss Rebels took down the Georgia Bulldogs last year in Oxford, Mississippi, but it wasn't enough to get them to the SEC Championship Game. Now in 2025, Lane Kiffin's Rebels are one of the hottest teams in the nation, having already picked up key wins over LSU, Kentucky, and Arkansas. Meanwhile, Georgia is hoping to avenge last year's loss on the road to a second straight SEC title.
These teams have very strong rosters with talent on both sides of the ball. Ole Miss lost many of their starters from 2024's team, but that hasn't seemed to slow them down at all. They continue to put up points and win games, even when backup quarterback Trinidad Chambliss had to step in for the injured Austin Simmons.
Georgia's success is powered by a well-coached, highly athletic defense and an efficient rushing attack. Although there were questions about their ability to run the ball coming into the season, Georgia has averaged nearly 200 yards on the ground per game so far in 2025.
