For even casual tennis fans, there can be no mistaking the signature orange-brown clay courts of Roland Garros, which has played host to the French Open for nearly a century. Much like Wimbledon's all-white dress code or the sheer size of the U.S. Open's Arthur Ashe Stadium, the French Open's clay courts emphasize the uniqueness of each Grand Slam event. For some competitors, like Rafael Nadal, clay is a specialty. For others, it's a challenge to be overcome. On May 25, the top tennis players in the world will hit the clay to kick off the 2025 French Open.

That's right. It's time to learn how to watch the French Open in 2025.

At the tender age of 21, Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest male player to win a major title on three different surfaces when he was crowned as a French Open champion in 2024. Coming into this year's tournament, he's the No. 3 men's singles player in the world. In many ways, this Grand Slam is his to lose. But Jannik Sinner, the No. 1 player, is hot off the heels of an Australian Open victory. Sinner isn't necessarily known for being a clay specialist, but he did manage to win the 2022 Croatia Open on the surface. Can he excel at Roland Garros this year or are the stars aligned for another Alcaraz title? Stalking both of these competitors, of course, is world No. 2 Alexander Zverev, who faced Alcaraz in the finals of last year's tournament. Can he finally capture his first-ever French Open championship?

Meanwhile, in women's singles competition, Iga Świątek enters Roland Garros as both the defending champion and No. 2 player in the world. Her title victory last year in France was her third straight. If she can manage to win again this year, she will set the all-time record with an unprecedented four consecutive French Open titles. But, of course, it won't be easy. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is coming off a pair of victories at both the Madrid Open and the Miami Open, not to mention her finals appearances at the Australian Open, Stuttgart Open, and Indian Wells. Can Sabalenka derail Świątek's quest to make history?

No pressure, but at the 2025 French Open, €56.352 million will be on the line in prize money. Who will rise to the occasion for a payday on the clay? To find out, you'll have to tune in to coverage of this year's event on TNT, truTV, Max, and Max via Prime Video. Here are all your options for watching the French Open.

How to Watch the French Open on Max

Max's live sports offerings include all matches of the French Open, making it the event's streaming home in the U.S. The two subscription options that include live sports are Standard ($16.99/month or $139.99/year) and Premium ($20.99/month or $169.99/year). Standard allows you to stream on two devices simultaneously, while Premium lets you stream in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound on four devices at once (although only two of those devices can be used for live sports). Either option will allow you to watch every match of the French Open, plus give you HBO's celebrated on-demand library of classic TV shows and movies.

You can also get Max via Prime Video and, lucky for you, it costs the same. This just makes it easier to have all of your streaming services under one app.

Another way to access Max? Glad you asked. If you're interested in Disney+ and Hulu, you can take advantage of a bundle that has the three streamers for $16.99/month with ads or $26.99/month without ads.

How to Watch the French Open on DIRECTV STREAM

DIRECTV STREAM gives you access to both TNT and truTV — the two key channels you'll need to catch all the action from this year's French Open. Plans start with the Entertainment package at $84.99/month, followed by Choice at $79.99/month, Ultimate at $109.99/month, and Premier at $154.99/month (just keep in mind that regional sports fees may bump those totals a bit). For a more tailored experience, DIRECTV STREAM now offers Genre Packs, letting you customize your lineup to better fit your interests. The MySports pack, for example, runs $69.99/month and even includes ESPN+ — ideal if you're in it for more than just the clay courts this season.

How to Watch the French Open on Hulu + Live TV

Hulu + Live TV also has both TNT and truTV, the two channels airing this year's French Open. You can get Hulu + Live TV, Disney+, and ESPN+, all with ads, for $82.99/month (after a 3-day free trial); or you can get Hulu (No Ads) + Live TV, Disney+ (No Ads), and ESPN+ (With Ads) for $95.99/month. Either option will get you plenty of sports coverage in addition to the 2025 Open. Plus, you'll have a robust, well-rounded selection of entertainment offerings at your fingertips.

How to Watch the French Open on Sling TV

Sling TV carries both TNT and truTV as part of its Blue subscription plan, which normally costs $45.99/month but is currently half off for the first month. A Blue plan will get you 43 channels and it will allow you to stream on as many as three devices simultaneously. You can also add more channels by getting the Orange + Blue plan for $60.00/month (half off for the first month). Prices may vary depending on where you live.
