AMC is putting some gas in Hell on Wheels' tank and renewing the western drama for a third season, Deadline reports.

However, the show is moving forward without its creators Joe and Tony Gayton, who are stepping down as executive producers and will no longer be involved on the show day-to-day. The Gaytons had a two-year contract, which expired, but they may continue to consult for the show.
Hell on Wheels, which stars Anson Mount and Common, averaged 2.4 million viewers for its second season.
