Howerton will play Cliff Gilbert, a mild-mannered attorney who works in Mindy's (Mindy Kaling) office building and woos her after they meet at work, E! reports. His character will be introduced in the fourth episode of the season.

In a recent interview, Howerton said the tenth season of It's Always Sunny would be the show's last, but later called the statement a "misquote."
