Giuliana & Bill: Season 2 "Blows Away" the First

Giuliana and Bill Rancic's tale of one marriage in two cities, Giuliana & Bill, returns for Season 2 on Sunday (9/8c, Style), and it finds the couple with one thing on their minds: babies. "That's a very real issue that a lot of women are dealing with, wanting to have a baby. Sometimes for some women, it's easier than for others," Giuliana, 35, tells TVGuide.com. "We shot a lot of Season 2 now and it's been a pretty incredible season." A baby, of course, wouldn't be the only big change in their lives as the long-distance couple — she's in L.A. and Bill, 38, is in Chicago — needs to settle on one place to call home. Find out if they've decided, why the E! News anchor thought beer was in her baby bottles and more.

TVGuide.com: Why is now the right time for you to have children?
Bill Rancic:
Well, I'm not getting any younger! That's starting to hit a little bit and my knees are going, so we either do it now or we're not going to do it. I don't want to be 70 years old, picking up my kid from kindergarten, you know? Also, we wanted to build the foundation of our marriage a little before we had kids. ... I would love to have two kids, twins ideally — fraternal, a boy and a girl. Giuliana would like four or five if it was up to her. I don't know if I'm up for that! That's a handful!
TVGuide.com: Have you decided where you're going to live and where you're going to have the baby?
Giuliana Rancic:
We're trying to figure it out. We've been shooting a lot of that stuff lately. It's become much more of a concern now. I think we used to argue a lot about where to live because we had just gotten into a marriage and you're a little bit selfish. We were single for a long time and it's really hard to be selfless. Now, with baby on the brain, you start to realize it's just about the baby. Is it healthy for it to be on an airplane every week? That's not good for a kid. Where does it have the best support system? That's going to dictate where we live.

Giuliana & Bill attempt to break reality curse: Our show's not poison

TVGuide.com: In the premiere, you baby-sit one of Giuliana's co-worker's kids and it doesn't go as smoothly as you predicted.
Giuliana:
[Laughs] It's always hard to baby-sit someone's kid. You would tiptoe around them more than you would your own kid. I think once we have our own kid, we'll be great parents. I think we'll be really fun, but baby-sitting was hard!Bill: I have three older sisters and eight nieces and nephews, so I've done my share of baby-sitting. I think we both realize it's going to require sacrifice. If we're going to bring a baby into this world, we're fools if we expect to live the same life that we'd been living. We both have careers that we want to continue, but we have to make some sacrifices.TVGuide.com: Also in the episode, Giuliana, you claimed your mom put beer in your bottle when you were a baby. What is that about?
Giuliana:
[Laughs] I have an older brother and sister and they used to scare the hell out of me with these crazy stories, like, [that] I was born in the ocean. A lot of siblings do that, but the problem is my parents would support it. "Was I really born in the ocean with dolphins?" My mom would go, "Yeah, you were." I think they said yes just to shut us up. So they told me they used to put beer in my bottle to make me sleep and I would now tell people to do that, like, "My parents did that and I turned out OK!" So Bill helped me discover that was a lie!Bill: I'm thinking, "There is no way your mom did that!" I couldn't even imagine that. That's like child neglect! [Laughs] Let's call the DCFS [Department of Child and Family Services] of Italy!

Watch clips from Giuliana & Bill

TVGuide.com: What else can we expect this season besides baby stuff?
Bill:
She goes on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? [and my nephew and his friends come over] for a study session. Giuliana's study habits came through in that session! The studying lasted about 20 minutes and then she had the idea to do crank calls to, like, Ryan Seacrest and different people — Kendra Wilkinson.Giuliana: We star-67ed, of course, but we called everyone, even my tanning salon. We had so much fun. It was ridiculous. At the same time, Bill flew with the Thunderbirds.Bill: Yeah, I went up with the F-16 with the Air Force Thunderbirds. We also go to Hong Kong and took a boat ride out to sea. We hit some rough water and she did not handle it well.Giuliana: It's an old junk boat. I'm like, oh it's going to go 5 mph. I show up in, like, skinny jeans and five-inch boots and a blazer. We got out and we couldn't hold on for dear life. It was going so fast! We take it to the next level this season. Big trips. We go to Maryland to hang out with my family again. Bill's family comes over for something special for Bill's dad. This season blows away the first.TVGuide.com: Would you include your kids on the show if it continues?
Bill:
I think we'd really have to think long and hard about that. That's getting into a whole different ballgame. That's a tough call right now.Giuliana: At the end of the day, it's all parenting. Whether your kids are on TV or not — there are plenty of kids who are not on TV who are pretty messed up and there are plenty of kids on TV who are great kids. With Bill and I, whether our kids are on TV or not or whether we're on TV, we're going to parent to the best of our ability and try to turn out some solid kids.
