George Lucas says he already has 50 hours worth of scripts ready for a live-action Star Warstelevision series — but he's waiting for a technological breakthrough to lessen the cost of shooting.
In an interview with G4's Attack of the Show, Lucas said the project was on hold while he looks for "a different type of technology we can use so it's economically feasible to shoot the shows."

As the Oscar-winning director previously announced, the series will take place between Star Wars films Revenge of the Sithand A New Hope. In the meantime, Star Wars will be re-released to theaters in 3D in 2012.
