But she still has opinions on the best characters
As the Season 8 premiere reminded us, Game of Thrones has never been shy about putting children right in the thick of its most graphic scenes, and it's had some interesting consequences for the show's young stars. Sophie Turner, for instance, had to read all the scripts' salacious scenes when she was just 12 years old, and it became her own unique form of sex education.
However, at least one kid actor from Game of Thrones has managed to shield herself from the show until she's old enough. Bella Ramsey, who portrays the ineffable Lyanna Mormont, has admitted to bypassing much of the show on account of the fact that she's still not aged up enough for its mature material, no matter how much of a pint-sized warrior she appears to be on screen.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Complete Coverage
In an interview with The Cut, Ramsey explained that because she's still just 15, she's only watched "bits" of the series, and she certainly hadn't seen it before landing the role of the Lady of Bear Island. However, she's still seen enough to be able to pick out her favorite characters.
"I actually hadn't seen Game of Thrones," she said. "Watching it now -- I've still not watched it all, but the bits that I've watched -- I feel like Brienne of Tarth. [Brienne and Lyanna are] kind of kindred spirits. They're both these females who are sticking up for what they believe in and proving that girls can be just as strong as boys, women can be just as strong as men."
Ramsey said she also has a heart for Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) because she identifies with the character's small-but-fierce moxie. "I still haven't watched it all because I'm only 15. So I didn't really have a clue what was going on," said Ramsey. "But I really like Arya. She's little and powerful."
We can't wait to hear Ramsey's reaction to her own character's vital ferocity if and when she ever does decide to revisit the show in full.
