Comedy Central is close to renewing Futuramafor two more seasons, a source close to production tells TVGuide.com.
The network will pick up the animated series for another two seasons of 13 episodes, not including the remaining episodes of Season 6 that will return on June 23. This will keep the crew of Planet Express employed through 2013.

The series previously aired on Fox, which canceled it in 2003. Comedy Central revived the series in 2008. Last season debuted to 2.9 million viewers, and averaged 2.5 million per week with DVR add in.
