Friends' Thanksgiving Episodes Are Coming to Theaters

Friends fans have a new reason to be thankful this season because the series is heading back to theaters with eight of the show's iconic Thanksgiving episodes finally getting their silver screen debut. Fathom Events announced on Thursday that it will host a two-day Friendsgiving screening series just in time for Turkey Day, with each episode remastered in 4k from the original 35mm camera negative.

That means fans will get to relive some of the show's most memorable moments, like Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) feuding over a woman watching their tag football game, Ross (David Schwimmer) botching everything with his pro/con list, Monica (Courteney Cox) doing the turkey head shimmy, Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) terrible trifle, and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) pushing for Emma to be in that creepy baby beauty pageant.

Curiously, not every episode will be featured in this theatrical run. The schedule for Fathoms' Friendsgiving event is as follows (though they are subject to change):

Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. (local time)
"The One Where Underdog Gets Away"
"The One with the List"
"The One with the Football"
"The One with All the Thanksgivings"

Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (local time)
"The One Where Ross Got High"
"The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs"
"The One With Rachel's Other Sister"
"The One With The Late Thanksgiving

Noticeably absent from the list are Season 4's "The One with Chandler in a Box" and Season 8's "The One with the Rumor." So no eye patches or "I Hate Rachel Green" club surprises in store for this run.

This isn't the first time Friends has been featured on the big screen, of course. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series' premiere in September, Fathom previously hosted a screening series of several of the show's most memorable episodes, and according to their stats, the showings grossed $2.9 million. That's enough for lots and lots of Ichiban lipstick tubes.

Tickets for the Friendsgiving screenings will go on sale at Fathom Events on Nov. 1.

Of course, all 10 episodes are still available for streaming in their original format. Friends is currently available at Netflix and will move to HBO Max next year.
