Fox Beefs Up Animation with More American Dad, Bob’s Burgers

Fox has ordered more scripts for veteran series American Dad and upcoming comedy Bob's Burgers, according to Vulture.

The network has ordered eight more scripts for American Dad, now in its sixth season on Fox. Six more scripts are in the works for Bob's Burgers, an animated comedy from Dr. Katz's Loren Bouchard. It will debut midseason.

Fox has also ordered two new animated series. Godparents, from "I Am Babycakes" animator Brad Neely, follows an inexperienced couple forced to raise their grandchildren. Red Roofs, created by Simpsons vet Bob Kushell, focuses on a 12-year-old boy who splits his time between his divorced parents' households.

This is Fox's most recent move to ramp up their animation offerings. Last week, the network ordered a cartoon version of Napoleon Dynamite as well as a new series from Jonah Hill.
