True Blood's Carrie Preston Heads to The Following

The True Bloodstar has landed a guest-starring role on the upcoming season of The Following, E! Online reports.

The Following reveals the fates of Joe Carroll, Claire at Comic-Con

Preston, who plays Arlene the waitress on HBO's vampire drama and is also known for her turn on The Good Wife, will play a groupie of serial killer cult leader Joe Carroll (James Purefoy). Although it had seemed that he had perished in last season's finale, Purefoy confirmed his return to the Fox series by popping up at Comic-Con in July.

Preston is the latest addition to the growing cast in Season 2. Dexter alum Keith Carradine, James McDaniel, Connie Nielsen and Jessica Stroup have also recently been added.

The Following will return to Fox in January 2014.
