Who Will Die in Fear the Walking Dead's Season 5 Finale?

No major characters have died in Fear the Walking Dead Season 5, and there's just one episode left. Neither Fear nor The Walking Dead has ever gone this long without killing a series regular. Will the streak hold, or will Fear finally off somebody in the finale?

Sunday's penultimate episode, "Channel 5," did see the death of a guest star. Tom -- played by Joe Massingill, whom you may recognize from Barry, where he played Sarah Goldberg's character's abusive ex-husband -- was crushed in a bridge collapse. He was on the bridge past the point it was safe to be on because he was getting footage for Al's (Maggie Grace) documentary, and he paid the ultimate price for his dedication to getting the story. But he was not a major character, as his first appearance came in the previous episode. The only other character we got to know in any significant capacity to die in Season 5 was Logan (Matt Frewer), the convoy's unimpressive enemy in most of the the second half of the season until Ginny (Colby Minifie) showed up and killed him. Compare this to the penultimate episode of the most recent season of The Walking Dead, which killed off the most characters in one fell swoop in series history. Typically, there's at least one major death in every eight-episode half season, but Fear has broken this Walking Dead tradition.

None of Fear's pre-Season 4 characters, like Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Strand (Colman Domingo), and Salazar (Rubén Blades); more recent additions, like John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt), June (Jenna Elfman), and Al; or Walking Dead crossovers Morgan (Lennie James) and Dwight (Austin Amelio) have faced any real threat of death in Season 5. The only character with anything hanging over them heading into the finale is Grace (Karen David), who has radiation sickness that comes and goes.

Fear is at a crossroads at the end of Season 5. Does it completely break with how the franchise has typically operated and kill no one, establishing itself once and for all as the truly optimistic spin-off, or does it reaffirm its allegiance to the idea that anyone can die?
