EVERYBODY REALLY, TRULY LOVES TO HATE CHRIS

The Thursday-night unveiling of Everybody Hates Chris rocked the Nielsen ratings to the tune of 7.6 million viewers, besting Must-See TV time slot rival Joey and, far more significantly, making it the most-watched sitcom in the history of UPN. (Take that, Head Over Heels.) Alas for UPN, a full 2.8 million of those samplers switched channels once fellow newcomer Love, Inc., hit their screens. Meanwhile, CBS continued its stranglehold on the night with Survivor: Guatemala (16.6 million), the sixth season premiere of CSI (28.3 million) and the debut of Criminal Minds, which, with 19.8 million viewers, gave ER (launching its 12th season with 14.3 million) a seizure.
