Jack Valenti, a onetime aide to President Lyndon Johnson who went on to oversee the Motion Picture Association of America and become Hollywood's top lobbyist, died on Thursday of complications from a stroke he suffered in March. He was 85. Valenti's legacy includes, of course, updating the film industry's morality code created in the 1930s with the ratings system we have today.
