House of Cards Actress Elizabeth Norment Dies at 61

Veteran actress Elizabeth Norment, who most recently played the secretary to Kevin Spacey's character on House of Cards, has died, according Hollywood Reporter. She was 61.

Norment died earlier this month at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

"Everyone at House of Cards is deeply saddened by Elizabeth's passing, "House of Cards showrunner Beau Willimon said in a statement. "She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all."

The Washington, D.C., native got her start in theater and went on to have small roles in Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, Law & Order, St. Elsewhere, Party of Five, ER, Mad About You and Blue Bloods. 

Norment is survived by her three sisters, brother and mother.
