Elizabeth Hurley Joins E!'s The Royals

Elizabeth Hurley's next role is fit for a queen.

The British actress has landed a starring role in the upcoming E! pilotThe Royals, Deadline reports.

The hourlong pilot is a contemporary drama about a fictional royal family corrupted by power and wealth, loosely framed by Hamlet. Hurley will play Queen Helena, who's coping with the death of her oldest son and trying to quash the relationship between her middle son and his American girlfriend, according to Deadline.

The Royals comes from One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn and producers Brian Robbins and Joe Davola, along with Lionsgate TV.
