Disgraced radio personality Don Imus may soon be returning to the airwaves. Imus is reportedly close to signing with Citadel Broadcasting, the company that recently took over the stations owned by Disney/ABC. Imus and cohort Charles McCord are in talks to take over the morning-drive slot on Citadel's New York flagship AM station WABC. The program would also be syndicated on other outlets across the country. Imus has been off the air since mid-April, after he made racist and sexist remarks on his program about the Rutgers University women's basketball team. Public outcry over the comments led to the dismissal of Imus from CBS Radio, which syndicated his show, and from cable network MSNBC, where it was simulcast. Imus recently reached an out-of-court settlement with CBS over the $40 million remaining on his contract. - Reporting by Stephen Battaglio
