Character actor Dennis Burkley, who starred in My Name is Earl and most recently did voice work on King of the Hill, died at his home in Sherman Oaks, Calif. over the weekend, CNN reports. He was 67.

Born in Van Nuys, Calif., Burkley grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas and graduated from Texas Christian University. His television and movie credits include recurring roles on My Name is Earl and the Sanford and Son sequel Sanford, as well as appearances in Con Air, Tin Cup and The Doors.
Burkley also voiced several characters, including Principal Moss, on King of the Hill.
Burkley's agent told CNN that the actor died in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, Laura, a son and a daughter.
