Pilot Season: CW Orders Medical Dramedy from Gilmore Girls Producer

The CW has ordered a pilot for a medical dramedy from Gilmore Girls' Jennie Snyder Urman.

First Cut centers on a newly minted doctor who is looking forward to leaving her nerdy past behind for a fresh start. Unfortunately, she discovers that life at the hospital where she now works is no different from high school. Urman will write and executive-produce alongside Pushing Daisies' Dan Jinks.

Pilot Season: The CW orders Arrow, The Carrie Diaries and Beauty and the Beast

The CW previously picked up pilots for four dramas: Arrow, Greg Berlanti's take on DC superhero The Green Arrow; Sex and the Cityprequel The Carrie Diaries; a contemporary update of Beauty and the Beast; and crime thriller Cult.
