Pilot Season: Claire Holt Joins Vampire Diaries Spin-Off The Originals

The Vampire Diaries' Klaus is getting a little help from his half-sister on the CW pilot The Originals. 

Claire Holt, who plays Original vampire Rebekah Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries, will reprise her role for the upcoming spin-off, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Holt, 24, will play one of the lead roles alongside her TV siblings Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies.

The backdoor pilot for The Originals, which will air as an episode of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, April 25, was written by Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec. The project focuses on the Original family of vampires as Klaus returns to the French Quarter of New Orleans and is reunited with his evil former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).
