An above-average episode of Jason Lee's TNT crime dramedy Memphis Beat cast the always-amusing actor — who created one of the most hysterical lawmen in TV history, short-shorts enthusiast Lt. Jim Dangle on Reno 911! — as Keith Grant, an accountant and amateur detective who helped crack a burglary ring. He also developed a charming crush on Lt. Tanya Rice (Alfre Woodard), serenading her with a harmonica tune.

Even though Lee's cop Dwight Hendricks refused to deputize Keith, we hope we haven't seen the last of Lennon in Memphis. Of course, the guy is busy — he's got a role in this weekend's Cameron Diaz comedy Bad Teacher as well as the upcoming sequel A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas. And along with partner Robert Ben Garant, he's penned The Machine, another movie for Vin Diesel, who previously starred in their script for The Pacifier, as discussed in their recent book Writing Movies for Fun and Profit. Does this guy ever sleep?
