In an unusually sober episode of the too-often sensationalistic series, Terrence Howard smoothly crossed over from Law & Order: LA as his character, ADA Jonah Dekker, flew in to defend his cousin (excellent Chicago Hope vet Vondie Curtis-Hall) on rape charges. The case pitted Dekker against prodigal ADA Casey Novak (the always-welcome Diane Neal), whose law license had been suspended for three years. The crime's roots reached back to the Civil Rights Era, with stunning revelations about the accused suspect's mother and the alleged victim's grandfather. With solid hours like this one, the future looks bright for both the yet-to-be-renewed SVU and LOLA, which returns in a revamped format on Monday. What did you think of last night's SVU?
