Cheers & Jeers: Katy Perry Falls Flat

Jeers to Katy Perry for overexposing herself — literally and figuratively.

The pop footnote has been everywhere lately, from her too-hot-for-Sesame Street duet with Elmo to her off-key performances on Saturday Night Live and The American Music Awards. And because too much is never enough for her, there she was all over The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Wearing a headdress-and-hoop skirt number that looked like a reject from Lady Gaga's closet, she fizzled out with her new single "Firework," then returned in what looked like industrial-strength Spanx for a nightmarish medley that included "Teenage Dream," "Hot N Cold" and "California Gurls." Mercifully, she skipped "I Kissed A Girl." And I liked it.
