The tweets we all knew were coming
Ted Cruz ended his campaign for President Monday, all but ensuring Donald Trump is the GOP nominee. As you knew they would, celebs took to Twitter to express their reactions; here's what some of your favorite TV personalities managed to squeeze into 140 characters Monday night.
Seasoned news veterans like Larry King took a serious approach, naturally.
#Cruz is out of the race. Now, the question is: Can @realDonaldTrump unify the GOP and get former haters on his side.
Some got meta and expressed sadness about the state of the whole thing:
What a time to be alive...but like in a bad way. #GOP
Others were just happy to see him go:
Don't let the door hit you on the way out Ted
There were those who resorted to name calling:
Ted Cruz just said what built his campaign was the support of 4 year olds. So long, douchebag. Donald Trump to officially change Ted's name to 'Lyin Down Ted'.
While, ironically, one of the strongest among us showed the most restraint:
TED CRUZ JUST GOT HUMBLED
Even some of the funniest people we know couldn't find humor in it all:
Great of Cruz to wait till now to be honest about how awful Trump is and STILL he won't say he won't support him. https://t.co/68q0LZR5ZY
People who vote for Trump are the same ones who catch a foul at a ballgame and don't give it to a kid.
The man known for making us look back on decades past had, fittingly, already put Cruz in his rearview:
Remember when Ted Cruz thought he was going to be president?
But Marvel's Clark Gregg won with subtlety, choosing to let a GIF say everything he couldn't:
Twice! https://t.co/FzrL7nasig
