Divorce, Comeback Prove Costly for Britney Spears

Britney Spears' rise-from-the-ashes career turnaround has come at a price — specifically, $2.7 million in legal fees.
Part of that total was incurred during her protracted divorce and custody battle with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, The Los Angeles Times reports. Spears coughed up $417,000 to end her two-year marriage to the former dancer/aspiring rapper, court papers show.
The court documents, filed Monday by her father and conservator, Jamie Spears, reveal that fees were split among a whopping 17 lawyers and firms in the past 14 months. Spears' own attorneys cost $1 million alone, which was invested in overcoming the "complex and challenging" issues the pop star faced in her personal and professional comeback.
Many attorneys are still employed by Spears, so the buck doesn't stop here.
