Lone Survivor and The Nut Job also held steady at Nos. 2 and 3, with $12.6 million and $12.3 million, respectively. Frozen moved up a spot to No. 4 with $9 million, narrowly edging out Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, which came in fifth place with $8.8 million.

The fantasy action flick I, Frankenstein bombed in its debut weekend, landing in sixth place with $8.3 million. At No. 7 was American Hustle with $7.1 million.
Rounding out the Top 10 were August: Osage County (No. 8, $5.04 million), The Wolf of Wall Street (No. 9, $5 million) and Devil's Due (No. 10, $2.7 million).
