Billy Campbell Cast as Lead in Syfy's Helix

Billy Campbell has landed the lead role in Syfy's upcoming thriller series Helix, according to Deadline.

Campbell, who recently starred in the Nat Geo biopic Killing Lincoln, will play Dr. Alan Farragut, an emotionally troubled Centers for Disease Control pathologist whose marriage has recently fallen apart after his wife had an affair with his brother.

Helix, which is set to premiere in January, is about a group of scientists who investigate a possible disease outbreak — and Farragut's brother reaches out to him after being infected by a deadly virus.
