Bernie Mac in "Stable" Condition
Hospitalized since last week for pneumonia, Bernie Mac is on the road to recovery and is likely to be discharged in a few weeks, his rep has announced."Bernie Mac is in stable condition in a Chicago-area hospital," publicist Danica Smith said in a statement Thursday evening. "He is responding well to treatment and hopes to be released in the next few weeks. His family thanks everyone for the well wishes and concern."Earlier this week, Smith announced her client was doing well and shot down Internet talk that the 50-year-old comedian-actor had passed away.Mac has been hospitalized since Aug. 1 for the inflammatory illness.
