"The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London," reads an announcement in the "Forthcoming Marriages" section of the Wednesday edition of Britain's The Times.

Cumberbatch's rep also confirmed the engagement to The Telegraph in a statement: "I am delighted to confirm this morning's announcement that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are engaged."
Though Cumberbatch, 38, doesn't discuss his personal life publicly, he and Hunter have reportedly been an item for several months and were seen out and about together over the summer.
