Battlestar Galactica Alum Joins Eureka

Battlestar Galacticastar James Callis is sticking with Syfy.

The actor has been cast as a new regular in the network's most popular original series, Eureka.

In the dramedy, the 38-year-old Callis will play Dr. Grant, an ex-resident of Eureka who returns unexpectedly and causes a stir between his romantic interest with Allison Blake (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) and his friction with Sheriff Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson).

Battlestar alums tapped for Hawaii Five-O, Dark Blue

The 20-episode order, which will be shot in and around Vancouver, is slated to begin July 9.

Callis recently starred as the self-serving, conniving genius Gaius Baltar on Battlestar.
