Audrey Hepburn's Son Is Turning Her 'Formative Years' Into a TV Drama

The same production company behind My Brilliant Friend and The Young Pope is taking a crack at Hollywood's greatest icon.

Audrey Hepburn is instantly recognizable all across the globe. The epitome of an inextinguishable Hollywood star, the legend of Hepburn has outsized the woman herself. But before the legend, there was a woman with a passion, and her son Luca Dotti is determined to bring that version of Hepburn to the forefront in a new TV drama slated to start shooting in 2020.

Dotti, with his writing partner Luigi Spinola, teamed up with Wildside, which is the production company that's responsible lush, intellectual, international imports like The Young Pope and My Brilliant Friend, to produce the drama, Variety reports.

Watch This Now!

This isn't the first time Dotti and Spinola have dug into Dotti's Hollywood lineage, they co-authored Audrey at Home, a part memoir, part cookbook published in 2015. But while Audrey at Home focused mostly on the woman underneath the fame, Dotti's new drama will explore how that woman turned into an EGOT winner, a style icon, and an actress who inspired an entire generation of creatives. I personally can't wait for whichever season takes us behind the scenes of Roman Holiday.

No word on when or where the yet-to-be-titled show will air, but considering its pedigree, HBO is a good bet.
