In a crowded weekend of new releases, the film adaptation of the best-seller The Help grabbed the No. 2 spot with $25.5 million. Final Destination 5 followed in third place, scaring up $18.4 million.
Coming in at No. 4, The Smurfs drew $13.5 million (or $101.5 million so far). New release 30 Minutes or Less completed the top 5, earning $13 million.
Cowboys & Aliens ranked sixth with $7.6 million. At No. 7, Captain America: The First Avengertook in $7.1 million (bringing its take to $156.9 million).
Rounding out the top 10: Crazy, Stupid, Love. (No. 8, $6.9 million), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (No. 9, $6.9 million — nearly $357 million, all told) and The Change-Up (No. 10, $6.2 million).
Glee: The 3D Concert Movie failed to make the top 10 in its debut. The concert film sang to the tune of just $5.7 million.
