The second and final season of the prestigious Star Wars series is coming up quickly

Diego Luna and Faye Marsay, Andor
LucasfilmThe Disney era of Star Wars has had many ups and downs, but the franchise has had one particularly bright spot that everyone seems to love: Andor, the prequel series that tells the life story of the titular Rebel spy (Diego Luna), who led the mission to steal the Death Star plans. This sprawling tale, created by The Bourne Identity's Tony Gilroy, isn't just good for Star Wars — Andor is, instead, that rare Star Wars story that's just good, period.
The wait for Season 2 has been pretty excruciating — it's already been more than two years since Season 1 ended. But that wait, fortunately for us, is coming to an end in 2025. Here's everything we know so far about Andor Season 2.
More on streaming:
Just when the wait for our first real look at Andor Season 2 was starting to get frustrating, Disney did Star Wars fans a solid by dropping the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season in late February 2025. There's not much new info about the story to glean from this teaser, since it's mostly just a montage of random clips set to a rather on-the-nose Steve Earle song. But you will get several great looks at the cast's new haircuts, as well as glimpses of some slick action sequences. And, yes, that's Orson Krennic, the Death Star project lead played by Ben Mendelsohn, whom we met in Rogue One.
The second and final season of Andor is slated to premiere April 22, 2025 on Disney+, with new episodes dropping weekly. Season 2 will have 12 episodes, just like Season 1 did.
We know some very important details about what will happen in Season 2 of Andor. The big one is that Season 2 will be the last season of this series, and will take us all the way up to the events of Rogue One. Since we don't know what Cassian was doing just before he showed up in Rogue One, we don't know specifically what this means yet. But we don't have to worry about cliffhangers, at least — Andor will conclusively end here.
But there's a lot of ground to cover between the end of Andor Season 1 and the beginning of Rogue One — four years, to be exact. So we should probably expect a time jump between seasons, and maybe more during the season as well.
The second thing we know about Season 2 is that it will show us how Cassian became pals with the Imperial enforcer droid K-2SO, a key character from Rogue One voiced by Alan Tudyk.
Everybody important who survived Season 1 will be popping back up in Season 2, but there are also a couple additional Rogue One characters who will appear: Ben Mendelsohn will reprise his role as the Death Star's builder, Orson Krennic, and Alan Tudyk will again provide the voice of the droid K-2SO.
The Season 1 finale primarily revolved around the grand funeral of Maarva Andor, Cassian's adoptive mother, on the planet Ferrix. Maarva had left a fiery video message for the occasion, one which sparked an uprising against the local Imperials that had recently occupied the planet. In all the madness, Cassian is able to save his closest friend, Bix, and then he returns to Luthen, who was also on Ferrix for the funeral. Inspired by his mom's words, Cassian joins up with Luthen's rebellion for real.
